This session will explore effective strategies for translating educational content in children’s literature for a Chinese audience. Additional segments that will be touched on will include cultural nuances, age-appropriate language, and engaging elements that facilitate understanding, ensuring young readers can connect with the material while embracing their cultural context with some examples.

赵阿娜 (Ana Zhao ) (Australia)
赵阿娜在澳大利亚拥有超过 17 年的专业笔译和口译经验，主要从事文学和法律领域的翻译工作。由于具备教育学背景并积累了多年的相关翻译经验，她目前专注于文学类翻译。她曾为澳大利亚图书馆内部翻译学龄前儿童读物（英译中），并在每周一为学龄前儿童举办读书互动活动。此外，她还为多位画家和艺术家翻译过展览作品的简介和说明（中译英），以支持他们在新南威尔士州的展览。
最近，她正与澳大利亚知名童书作家 Venita Dimo 合作，翻译其系列丛书 Mini & Milo。
As a professional translator with extensive experience in children’s literature, Ana specialises in bridging cultural contexts to enhance educational content for young readers. Her work focuses on adapting texts to align with Chinese cultural values, ensuring that educational themes resonate authentically.
Moderator 孙宝琦 (Sun Baoqi) (Singapore)
孙宝琦, 新加坡教育学院/新加坡南洋理工大学教育学硕士、博士，目前任职于新加坡教育学院儿童发展研究中心，主要研究领域为儿童认知发展，双语早期阅读及双语教学。近期主要研究本地中小学阅读文化和学生双语阅读习惯，探索如何结合家庭，学校和各种社会资源的力量来培养孩子良好的双语阅读习惯。
Sun Baoqi is Senior Education Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research encompasses socio-cultural-cognitive perspectives on language learning with particular focus on children’s bilingual education and biliteracy development. One of her recent projects focuses on primary school children’s reading habits in their two languages, and how schools, families, and communities can work together in building a bilingual reading culture.
