Subsidised Tickets
When you pay the full price of a ticket, it helps support the Singapore Book Council (SBC) as a nonprofit and charity in our mission to promote multicultural literary arts. It ensures that we are able to remunerate our speakers for their time and labour, and sustain the livelihoods of our speakers, some of whom are freelancing artists dependent on ad hoc projects. It is also a commitment towards fair wages for arts practitioners, for a healthy and sustainable literary ecosystem.
However, we also understand that the full festival prices may not be affordable for everyone. Hence we have introduced a subsidised option to ensure our programmes at AFCC remain accessible. Below is a guideline to help assess the subsidised pricing. Please write to us to ask for the subsidised fees at programmes@bookcouncil.sg.
- Full Price: Do purchase a full price ticket if you have a full-time or part-time job that allows you to live comfortably within your means, do not have significant financial commitments or dependents, and/or have substantial financial support.
- Subsidised Price: Please opt for this amount if you do not have access to financial support or savings, do not have regular employment or income, and/or your monthly earnings go directly towards covering basic living expenses and other important financial commitments.
