Nurturing Mongolian Creators: Inside a Children’s Book Fellowship

This session shares insights from a pioneering fellowship under the Let’s Read Mongolia project, implemented by the Asia Foundation with support from the Lorinet Foundation. The intensive three-month program supports aspiring children’s book authors and illustrators through mentorship and exchange with both local and international industry professionals. Fellows develop their ideas into first drafts through guided workshops and conclude by pitching their manuscripts and storyboards to a publishing partner. The fellowship has led to promising new works, with selected projects progressing toward publication and international recognition. This demonstrates its impact in nurturing emerging voices in Mongolia’s children’s book landscape.
