As spaces for this session are limited, priority will be given to registrants on a first-come-first-served basis. We regret that we will not accept walk-ins if the session is full. Please pre-register for the workshop here.

This presentation explores how Malay-language heritage stories can foster identity, curiosity, and literacy in early childhood, while also introducing young learners to Singapore’s multicultural history and shared heritage.

Drawing from the PCFSP Heritage Series inspired by different parts of old Singapore and its diverse communities, it will demonstrate how educators and parents can use rich, local narratives to strengthen language acquisition, encourage reading, and support meaning-making in multilingual settings. This presentation will also show how Malay-language storytelling can help children explore not only Malay heritage but also Singapore’s wider multicultural landscape, promoting intercultural respect, empathy, and a broader sense of belonging.

This programme will be conducted in both Malay and English.
