Asian Festival of Children’s Content
22—25 May 2025

Climate change affects everyone, including little humans who might feel but not yet fully understand it. In this illustration workshop, weave your wonders or worries about our natural world into art with illustrators Darel Seow and Dorcas Tang!

See them draw some nature’s most fascinating creatures and organisms this draw-along session, from the tiniest soil microbes to the some of largest mammals native to Asia. Learn how to make these animals come to life in Darel and Dorcas’ very different styles, and pick up tips and tricks to craft your own stories about climate change.

This programme is in partnership with Difference Engine and is recommended for ages 7 - 12.

Stationery will be provided.  Participants are also welcome to bring along their favourite sketching materials!

Darel Seow

Darel Seow (Singapore)

Darel Seow is a visual storyteller, educator and designer who illustrates the tales of the natural world through his unique brand of wry wit and whimsy. He believes in the draw of storytelling as a means of engagement, creating experiences that simultaneously excite and educate. His multi-disciplinary practice is centred on man’s changing relationship with nature, in which he explores learning through the power of storytelling, imagination and play. These come to life through his works spanning public art, interactive experiences and of course picture books, which tell and re-tell uniquely Singaporean stories.
