Children Need to Know: Writing About Social Concerns, including Homelessness, for Today’s Children
Kenneth Heng, Lianne Ong
The topic of homelessness, or rough sleeping, is not often spoken about in Singapore as they are the invisible people of Singapore society. How can we sensitively address this topic with young children? The presenters will discuss the work that went into creating the first Singaporean picture book title on homelessness, The Uncle Downstairs.
