Yoko Yoshizawa, children’s book writer, translator and illustrator, has been trying to introduce Asian and African folktales to Japan. She cleaves to have the books illustrated by local artists. Such publication includes Samlee Took Back Beans, originally a Thai folktale The Boy, Craw and Sesame Seeds, published in Japan 2005 and a few more.
