Uma, the author of fifteen books for young readers, is widely recognised as a major international and multicultural voice in children’s literature. Her chapter book, Book Uncle and Me was the 2011 winner of the Scholastic Asian Book Award. She lives in New Mexico, USA and serves on the Faculty of the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
