Having left her home in Japan, Satomi Ichikawa arrived one day in Paris, without knowing a single word of French. She decided to stay no matter what the price. She didn’t know that her professional calling was in the field of drawing – she had this revelation while looking through an illustrated book by Maurice Boutet de Monvel.
