Dive into a world of colour and creativity with our vibrant basic watercolour workshop for budding Picassos ages 6-12!

In this collaborative activity, kids will learn the secrets of blending, shading, and colour mixing in painting the natural world. They will learn how to paint elements from the storybook MORE, by award-winning book creators Danielle Florendo and Bea Mandapat.

Kids will work together to make a team painting. Roll up your sleeves, grab a paint brush, and join in the fun!

Bea Mandapat

Bea Mandapat (Philippines)

Bea Mandapat is a writer, teacher, and literacy advocate born in Baguio City, Philippines. Her work, Etag, and Other Preserved Things won first in the 2020 Mama Sita’s Heritage Food Story competition. Her book entitled Goodfire was given honourable mention by the PBBY-Salanga Prize. She is the founder of Liv Language, a literature-based programme that helps kids grow in their reading, writing, listening, and speaking. She was part of the 2023 cohort of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Citi Foundation Springboard Elevate Programme for young social entrepreneurs with a focus on SDG 4: Quality Education.

Danielle Florendo

Danielle Florendo (Philippines)

Danielle “Dani” Florendo is a Baguio-based exhibiting visual artist and illustrator who specialises in children’s book illustrations. Dani currently holds 12 published titles from notable authors from prominent publishers such as Ilaw ng Tahanan Publishing, OMFLIT Hiyas, Lampara  and the University of the Philippines Baguio under Corditext Project. She has received multiple recognitions as an illustrator including the 2023 International White Ravens Catalogue and the Catholic Mass Media Awards Finalist for The Perfect Tree written by Glory Moralidad, Children's Choice for Doc Luis Gatmaitan's Palanca awardee story Maselan Ang  Tanong ng Batang si Usman (2020) and more.
