Asian Festival of Children’s Content
23–26 May 2024

The 2024 Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) will take place from 23 to 26 May as a fully in-person festival at the National Library Building. 

If you enjoy children’s literature and love meeting new friends with similar interests, join us as a volunteer today!

AFCC needs *you* for the following roles:

Hospitality Assistant

  • You will assist with providing the necessary hospitality requirements for the authors, manage the green room for guests, as well as attend to any ad-hoc requests.

Room Manager

  • Put on your mega-watt smiles! You will be stationed at the different Festival venues to assist with venue set-up, session registration, as well as crowd control. We will also enlist your help to resolve any issues that may arise throughout the session.

Book Fair Assistant

  • You will help the venue manager with managing programmes happening in the Plaza, audience count as well as attending to any attendee enquires.

Special Events Assistant

  • We need help with the night events: the Opening Night and AFCC’s Country of Focus Night on 23 May and 25 May. We will require event assistants to help with duties such as ushering, assisting presenters, as well as helping with venue management.

Photographer

  • You will assist with taking photos of the sessions.

Events Emcee

  • We would need your help with simple announcements at AFCC. These include opening and closing the Book Fair, as well as announcing upcoming events in the different venues.

General Requirements:  

  • Applicants should be 16 years old and above.
  • Successful applicants must be able to volunteer for a minimum of two (2) shifts from 23 to 26 May 2024*
  • Successful applicants are required to attend two (2) pre-event briefings in May, one (1) at the SBC office (date to be confirmed), and one (1) at the National Library Building (Tue 21 May, evening).

 

*The two shifts are:

  • AM shift: 8am - 3.30pm
  • PM shift: 2pm - 9pm
