Book Illustrators Gallery

The Book Illustrators Gallery (BIG) aims to showcase the works of local and regional illustrators and artists – across genres and borders – and promote them to a wider audience.

You are invited to submit artwork that has appeared in children’s books, audio/video products, comics or graphic novels in Asia, published between January 2014 and March 2015! We also welcome completed unpublished works. Closing date for submissions is 2 March 2015! Submissions is now closed. See selected illustrations in 2015 Gallery.

Curators for BIG

Dr Tony See

Dr. Tony See lectures in the Department of Communication and New Media in National University of Singapore (NUS). He has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer in Western Art History and Southeast Asian Art in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and Lecturer in Critical Theory in Lasalle College of the Arts. He has served as a curator for a number of art exhibitions in Singapore and abroad.

Susanna Goho-Quek

Susanna is an author, illustrator, and artist. She provided the illustrations for a collection of poetry about old Singapore, The Ice Ball Man, and the picture books A Single Tear and Water. Her own picture books include God Is Hu? and Fun at the Opera, based on her own childhood. Since 2011, Susanna has been the curator of the Book Illlustrators Gallery (BIG).
