Fresh from its success at the Berlin Film Festival, AFTRS alumni Lisa Hoppe will share her experiences in adapting the popular coming-of-age novel, My Life as an Alphabet, into a critically acclaimed and award-winning international feature film, H is for Happiness. Described by Variety as “feel-good entertainment for the entire family without pandering — or sacrificing style or substance,” Lisa talks about her adaptation process from book to film from the perspective of both writer and producer. The session will present a contemporary case study of how to negotiate screen adaptations for a global market and will include Q & A.
